24 March 2021
The Climate and Ecological Emergency Bill has been presented to Parliament. On **26th March** there is an action day to raise awareness about the bill.
Swale Green Party are supporting action on the Climate and Ecological Emergency Bill and we need your help!
There are two things you can do to help:
This is an emergency and we need to make sure that our representatives are doing what’s needed. Contacting your MP and letting them know the things you care about really does work.
Find your MPs contact details here. Sending an email is great - and posting a letter is even better. You can download a copy of the Climate and Ecological Emergency bill from the bill. Be polite and to the point, letting them know:
Or use this template letter to your MP and personalise it yourself:

Dear MP,
Support the Climate and Ecological Emergency Bill
I am writing to ask that you support the Climate and Ecological Emergency Bill.
2020 was not only the hottest year, but also the end to the hottest decade on record. Massive wildfires scorched Australia, Siberia, and California, and the ice cover continues to shrink. Climate change is no longer a prediction, it’s a reality. The sixth mass extinction is happening today. Never in our history has there been a more pressing need for radical new legislation. We can use the levers of power that already exist to protect the future of life on earth.
The world around us is changing. And it’s going to get worse. But if we act now, we can turn this crisis around and build a stronger, better society. The Climate and Ecological Emergency (CEE) Bill makes that possible.
So far, the Bill has been backed by over 100 MPs from seven different political parties. It is also supported by thousands of campaigners across the country, as well as a broad alliance of businesses and non-governmental organisations including The Body Shop, Greenpeace, the Women's Environmental Network and many of your constituents.
Please vote in support the Climate and Ecological Emergency Bill.
Kind regards, etc.

Thanks for your support!
Best wishes,
Tim Valentine
