Running an election campaign requires money. £500 is required just for the deposit to allow a candidate to stand. In addition, there are the costs of designing, printing and delivering leaflets and posters as well as the exciting activities we would like to run including events, videos and community projects.

Unlike other parties, the Green Party does not accept funding from big business, the finance sector or trade unions. We do this so that we can stay independent from these agendas and act in the best interests of the people. However, this does mean that we have far fewer resources than other parties and depend entirely on our members and supporters to fund all of the amazing work we do. That is why your support is so important.

You do need to be registered to vote in order for us to accept your donation. If you donate more than £500 please contact us and give us your name and address. All political parties are required to run permissibility checks on donations over £500. That means that we have to check with the Electoral Commission whether the donor is a UK citizen registered to vote. Please contact coordinator@swale.greenparty.org.uk and give Tim Valentine your name and address and the details of your donation.

We are delighted to say that Hannah Temple will be standing as our Green Party candidate for Faversham & Mid Kent in the general election 2024.

In 2023 we stood more candidates for Swale Borough Council than ever before, and won our best ever result, but we now have a general election to win - we hope to get our first Kent Green MP elected. We need help with all aspects of the campaign, delivering leaflets to your street or village, knocking on doors and sharing our message with our electorate and help sharing our posts on social media. We rely solely on volunteers and need your help! We also rely solely on individual donations.
